1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Canada WeatherLine service ("Service"), including our telephone service, website, and related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Service Description

Canada WeatherLine provides voice-activated weather forecasts for Canadian locations via a toll-free telephone number. Users call our service, provide a Canadian postal code via voice or keypad entry, and receive a spoken weather forecast generated from Environment Canada data. The Service also includes a website for account management and subscription payments.

3. Eligibility

The Service is available to individuals who are at least 13 years of age. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this eligibility requirement. The Service is designed for use within Canada, though calls may be made from any location.

4. Account Registration

When you first call the Service, an account is automatically created using your caller ID phone number. You are responsible for maintaining the security of any account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current information.

5. Subscription and Payment

  • The Service operates on an annual subscription model at a rate of $40.00 CAD per year.
  • New users may receive a complimentary trial period at our discretion.
  • Subscriptions are billed as a one-time annual payment. Subscriptions do not auto-renew.
  • Payment can be made via our website (processed by Stripe) or by phone during a call.
  • All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes.
  • Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use automated systems (bots, scripts) to make calls to the Service
  • Share your account or subscription with others
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the weather forecasts provided

7. Service Availability and Accuracy

  • We strive to maintain the Service on a 24/7 basis but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
  • Weather forecasts are generated from data provided by Environment Canada and formatted using artificial intelligence. While we aim for accuracy, weather information is inherently uncertain and should not be relied upon for safety-critical decisions.
  • We are not responsible for any decisions made or actions taken based on the weather information provided by the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by Canada WeatherLine and are protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. Weather data is sourced from Environment Canada and is subject to the Government of Canada's terms of use.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. No refund will be provided for any remaining subscription period unless required by law.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Canada WeatherLine and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
